Hi,
I am new in Lazarus, CT in this case. I am trying to use Visual Form Inheritance in CT.
Although it is possible to create a new form in the designer, I am not able to place visual
components in the newly created form (derived from another form).
Does anybody have experiences with this?

I guess is a Lazarus bug ???

I really do not have time to try this or to spend some more time searching the web, but I have done some quick search, since I think that form inheritance is important feature.

To be honest, I have never done this in CT or Lazarus, but I have done it in Delphi many times. In Delphi you need to add RegisterCustomModule procedure, but I can not find anything similar for Lazarus.

At lest I found this post , and at first sight this looks same as problem you described.

Maybe you should try to find that bug report and to see the status of it.
