I tried to install CT 5.60 Lab version on Windows 10 with no success. (Same result with 5.50 on another Windows 10 VM).
I have installed this Direct-x library before starting CT installation: directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

Since the error was the same as the one I was getting on Linux (viz., the unit system missing), I tried to rebuild just FP32, and that failed as expected as well. Can some one analyze the attached log file?

My VM has 4GB ram and about 20GB free space on the hard drive.

I had the compatibility mode turned on for both 32 and 64 bit versions of fpc.exe.
Does DirectX run-time have anything to do with FPC build?

check if other old FPC file are in your "OS Path"

It is failing only on Windows 10 64Bit. CT 5.60 is successfully installed on Windows 7 64bit,
In the log I noticed the following error:

"process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, echo Start now 21:08:49, ...) failed."

Well, I will post that information tonight.

I tried again (at work) after creating a new Windows 10 Enterprise VM (using Windows 10 Enterprise Trial ISO) and the installation process was successful!

I have no idea why it failed in the original VM when I tried at home (that VM was created by Microsoft as a testing platform for their Edge browser, so could it be that its security settings are different?).

With MS OSes ALL are posible...
