CT 2.30 install OK. But when I start Lazarus it don't start and no message why. OS: clear openSUSE 12.1 32b. Please help.

Hi rigel,

what procedure did you follow? Any messages from the CT during installation? The only trouble i am facing when installing
CT on linux distros is the ROOT privileges. But even for that there is available help in the CT Documentation.

Hi Kostas,

./install.sh
From menu choose install Lazarus IDE - OK, no errors.
Start with shortcut for Lazarus - don't start, no message why!

I forget - install Libraries - OK!
After that install FPC and Lazarus - Ok.
In CT Center no button for Start Lazarus like Win version. Is this normal?

My suggestion Sir
1) Install Libraries again
2) Run from CT center "Remove and build All"

ExitCode: 0

i have just finished an OpenSUSE 12.1 installation on my VBox. I will follow the procedure to install CT 2.30 and
i will be back with results

Well better late than never. Here i am after the installation of CT 2.30 on OpenSUSE 12.1 32bit.
For me the installation went ok. Everything installed as expected. I have also started a new project in
lazarus and built it with success.
Keep in mind that my linux systems are installed in a virtual machine and they are in English language.

The only odd in the hole case was the new interface of the opensuse. Really got me confused in the beginning.

Those are good news! Can I ask you what database are you using, if any?

I was change language to English. Reinstall libraries and Lazarus. No success with run Lazarus, no change. I am on VirtualBox too.

If you can please upload anywhere your VirtualBox fail and give me a link to download. Thanks!

Joseme, you mean if i am using any Database components? I have written only a few Database applications in my life and
for that purpose i have used the ZeosDBO components along side with MySQL Server and SQLite.

my VBox image file (OpenSuSE.vdi) is 9Gb!! I have tried to compress it but i abort the compression since it was taking too long
and the result would not have any big difference in size.
What makes me really feel strange is the fact that in your OpenSuSE everything installs ok and at the end Lazarus is not starting....
Can you at least run CodeTyphon Center or you have the same results as Lazarus? Have you tried to locate the installation dirs and
start the Lazarus ide directly from the executable file?

This is strange. My VBox image file (OpenSuSE.vdi) is 4.14Gb (without snapshots)! CodeTyphon Center runs OK! Libraries installs OK. Lazarus and FPC installation was OK! No errors. Only can't start Lazarus. I was install openSUSE standart installation. Lazarus start for a second and after that simply stop without message.
