Where should I look to delete that -f option?
Ok, found one occurrence. Please, tell me what is this:
sudo -f ln -s $vfpcexedir/$vfpcexec $vfpcrundir/$vfpcexec
sudo -f ln -s $vfpcexedir/$vfpcexec $vfpcrundir/fpc$vbits

Sudo in ubuntu 12.04.1 do not know about -f option, as you can see above...
Maybe it would be better to support an LTS issue rather than common one?

Here I tried to install under Linux Mint 13 just to be sure that it's not me or my OS settings.
This Linux Mint is absolutely clean!
I installed it under VBox just a couple hours ago.
I DID install system libraries before trying to build.

So now I'm sure that's not me (or not just me) and the question is:
What should I do/have to build CT under ubuntu 12.04.1 ? (See log in the previous post)

You mean you can't reproduce this?
What should I do?
What version of libgdb do I need?

Also, under Mint 13 I have this:

Sir
my suggestion is to use the latest Ubuntu 12.10 or Linux Mint 14.
or wait for new ver to fix this
or install an older CT version.

Oh, this is NOT CodeTyphon problem it's FreePascal bug

Warning: Spoiler!

But, despite all above, I asked 1 simple question: What version of libgdb do I need?
FPC devs think that this is GBD issue. They always did. Now is the 4th time this happens.

I assume that 12.10 have the appropriate version of GDB (You've tested on it and it worked, right?).
Then just tell me your version and I'll download it and the other stuff I would need alongside.

Checked in the repos: 12.04 has the same version as the 12.10, namely 7.4-2012.04-0ubuntu2.1
Installed that, but FPC still refuses to be built.

Maybe it's not about libgdb, but some other library it depends on?

First one (used option #4) believes there's no libgdb.a installed (which isn't true),
while second (used option #8) still uses system libgdb.a (it seems that it have replaced files I had replaced)

No.
System libgdb still have undefined callbacks and how that can be "ok" if it the second log I attached has lines like this:

I got it installed under 12.04!
The problem with new makefiles is that I had to run manually only build scripts. Selecting option #8 from installation menu results in FPC folder clearing.

It would be nice to have an option "Rebuild" for both FPC and Lazarus just for cases like this.
Anyway, I launched the #8 option, and once I spotted that my files (I mean your files) were replaced, I replaced them again. Installation script was running and I barely made it in time.

Also I installed Lazarus from the repos while I was unaware of installer tendency to overwrite my files. Don't know whether that affected my installation or not, but fpc from repos was not found after installation and Lazarus from repos refused to actually work.

Thanks for your help, sternas. I hope that this fix of yours will make it possible to support 12.04 for all it's lifespan.

Does Update Manager works with a Proxy Server (very common work scenario)? I can't update because there is no way for me to enter the proxy settings.
Please help. Thank you.
